Both of these were drawn in under 60 seconds from memory. I like paper and pen better

Tablets not good at lines, tablet is great at gradient. Give it time and you'll come around.

I think I'm done with Intuos tablets. But my school also has cyntiqs so I'll have to try those out

Cyntiqs are obviously better, but at $2k+ they better be.

I forget what major you're in but a tablet/cyntiq is pretty much how you get any design done. The future is here.

Hey Denver, how much experience did you go into Industrial Design with? Do they teach you most of the things there? Were you an artist going in? Were you really good at math or were you just ok at math?

I'm starting to get worried about college this fall.

I was already an artist, but more fine art. Except there is no money in fine art, so I went into applied arts thinking it would be more versatile. I am so-so to not very good at math, There is a large math component to the degree program though.

I'm kinda arty. I draw cars with Illustator and I do Photoshop for my school newspaper and yearbook. I'm just worried about getting in the ID program and not being able to draw that well. Although on the tour the guy said they have a class on drawing. Worst case scenario I'm thinking I could change to Photography or Graphic design and if I'm not artistic enough for either of those then I could do Technology education, which is in the same building.

You have a good foundation, they teach it too. In fact Im in an Introduction to Digital Illustration Class currently, The teacher told me today, and this is a direct quote; "This Class May Be Beneath You". You should be okay. If you wanna see some of my stuff, here are a few examples:

Hey, don't knock the Intuos. Anything's better than KBM for Photoshop.

If Wacom Inc. would price their Cintiq products more reasonably, or not charge crazy high prices for their (Oh so awesome magnet) technology, then regular people (and especially not so rich artists) could afford them. But they slap their tech on a computer and double charge for it. Their true market are the Studios (which they get all the multiple platfom license fees from any way). They gouge the artists for their oh so precious proprietary magnet pen technology. Thanks Wacom, for sucking artists dry. True champion of the Arts. (ack!)
